Create an Apple Developer Account

Videeo can partner with you to create an iOS mobile app for your Shopify shop. However, before we can do so, you’ll need to create an Apple Developer account.

This is a process you need to complete on your own and is not something our team can do on your behalf.

Please Note: We can only work with Apple Developer accounts registered as a Company/Organization, not those registered as an Individual/Sole Proprietor. If you operate as a sole proprietorship and wish to form an LLC to register your Apple Developer account as a Company, here is a resource that can help you with that process.

Before You Get Started

Once you have your LLC, you'll need to gather the following information to register your Apple Developer Account under your business:

  • DUNS Number. You must register for a DUNS number using your business's legal name (not an individual's name). Learn about DUNS numbers here. It can take up to 30 days to receive your DUNS number.
  • Business Apple ID with Two-Factor Authentication. You will need an Apple ID for your business address (e.g., info@shopmystore.com) to create your Apple Developer account. Create your business Apple ID here. You will also need to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for this Apple ID. Learn how to enable 2FA here.
  • Business Email Address. Apple requires a business email address for an Apple Developer Account. Apple will not accept a Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc. email address. We recommend using G Suite or Outlook for a custom business email.
  • An iPhone or iPad. You must have Touch ID, Face ID, or a passcode enabled. You can also use a Mac with Touch ID or a password enabled. You must use the same device for the entire Apple Developer account enrollment process.
  • Apple Developer App. You will need the latest version of the Apple Developer app installed on the device you will use for the enrollment process. If you are on a desktop, you can complete your enrollment in a browser window.

Step 1: Apply for Your Apple Developer Account

Once you've completed the above tasks, you can apply for your Apple Developer Account here. You will be enrolling as an Organization.

  1. Select Enroll in the top-right corner of the Apple Developer Program page.
  2. Review the items required for enrollment, then select Start Your Enrollment.
  3. Log into your Apple account using your Apple ID credentials.

Step 2: Apply as a Company/Organization

You must enroll as a Company/Organization for Videeo to create and manage your app.

  1. Select Company/Organization from the drop-down.
  2. Review the requirements for enrollment.
  3. Select Continue in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Step 3: Enter Business Details

  1. Enter your business name in the Legal Entity Name. Your Legal Entity Name must match what DUNS has on file EXACTLY, or you will get an error.
  2. Enter your DUNS number in the D-U-N-S Number field.
  3. Enter your CAPTCHA code in the field provided.
  4. Select Continue in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Step 4: Confirm Your Authority

Apple may prompt you to provide additional details about your company, such as your business address. Complete these fields, then scroll to the bottom of the page.

Here you'll be asked to confirm that you have the authority to sign legal agreements. This is where you will enter your business email address.

Step 5: Place Your Order

On the next page, you will see a summary of all the information you just entered. After you confirm that all of your info is correct, you can place your order.

When you log in to your Apple developer account, it might still say that your enrollment is processing. That is okay! It generally takes a few hours to fully process.

Step 6: Invite Videeo to Your Mobile App

Once you create your Apple Developer account, you’ll want to add the Videeo Mobile Team as a user. This is a crucial step that allows our team to build your mobile app.

  1. Log into your Apple Developer Account.
  2. On the Users and Access page, select the plus sign icon (+) in the top-left corner of the page.
  3. Complete the following fields on the New User pop-up:
    • First Name. Enter Mobile in the field provided.
    • Last Name. Enter Team in the field provided.
    • Email. Enter the email that appears in your iOS Checklist on your Videeo Mobile App page
    • Roles. Select Admin
    • Additional Resources. Ensure Certificates, Profiles and Identifiers are selected. It should also appear grayed out.
  4. Select Invite in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up.
