You can use the push notification feature to schedule timely and targeted alerts for your shoppers.
For example, you might schedule a push notification to announce a flash sale or new product launch. Shoppers who have opted in for notifications will receive these alerts on their devices, prompting them to open your app immediately.
This real-time communication can significantly enhance customer engagement, driving traffic and sales by informing shoppers of exclusive deals and updates right when they are most relevant.
Schedule a Push Notification
- Navigate to your Shopify dashboard.
- Select Videeo: Mobile Commerce under Sales Channels from the side menu.
- Select the green Manage Mobile App button under the Build Your Branded Mobile App card.
- Select the Notifications/Banner tab from the options at the top of the page.
- You can view a list of scheduled notifications, showing their status as Pending, Sent, or Failed. The list is ordered by the scheduled date and time in reverse chronological order.
- Under the Notifications section, select Compose Push Notification.
- Compose the notification.
- Notification Title. Enter a title for the notification. Make sure it's attention-grabbing!
- Notification Body. Enter the contents of the notification. This will look like a description of the title above.
- Select the Schedule notification for later date/time checkbox.
- Select your desired date and time using the drop-downs.
- Once everything is set up, select Schedule Notification.
That's it! Your shoppers will now receive a push notification at the scheduled time on their mobile devices.
Delete a Scheduled Push Notification
Sometimes you might want to delete a scheduled push notification. For example, if the information becomes outdated, if there was an error in the notification message, or if the promotion has been canceled or rescheduled. This is easy to do!
- Navigate to your Shopify dashboard.
- Select Videeo: Mobile Commerce under Sales Channels from the side menu.
- Select the green Manage Mobile App button under the Build Your Branded Mobile App card.
- Select the Notifications/Banner tab from the options at the top of the page. You can view a list of scheduled notifications.
- Select the Trash icon on the right side of the scheduled notification you wish to delete.
