Set up Shopify Customer Accounts Login for Your Mobile App

 

Enable Shopify’s new Customer Accounts experience on your mobile app to give shoppers a secure and seamless login process using one-time passcodes (OTP). This modern login method removes the need for passwords and makes it easier for customers to access their order history, saved payment methods, tracking information, and rewards (if enabled). It’s a key step in creating a frictionless, personalized shopping experience that builds long-term loyalty.

Before You Get Started

Before you can set up the customer account login, you must complete the following:

• Have an active Mobile app plan for Videeo.
• Install the Headless App on your Shopify store.

Step 1: Navigate to Customer Account Login Setup

1. Navigate to your Shopify dashboard.
2. Select Videeo: Mobile Commerce under Sales Channels from the side menu and then select Set up on the Mobile App Builder.
3. Select Setup Customer Account Login from the options listed at the top of the page.

Step 2: Get the Client ID from Shopify’s Headless App

1. In a different tab, open your Shopify Admin and navigate to the Headless app.
2. Select Create Storefront under the Getting started section.
3. Select Manage next to the Customer Account API section.
4. Copy and note down the Client ID displayed on the screen.
5. Once done, select Next at the bottom right corner of the Customer Account Login Setup screen.

Step 3: Add Your Store’s Callback URI

1. On the Headless app tab, scroll down to the Application setup section.
2. Select the Edit icon.
3. Enter your store’s Shopify domain in the Callback URL(s) field.
   • You can copy your from the Step 2 of the Customer Account Login Setup screen.
4. Select Save at the top of the page.
5. Once done, select Next at the bottom right corner of the Customer Account Login Setup tab.

Step 4: Connect the Client ID in Videeo Mobile App

1. On the Customer Account Login Setup tab paste the copied Client ID from Step 1 in the field provided and select Save.
2. Select Save again to confirm.
3. Once done, select Done at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 5: Enable Customer Accounts Login in Shopify

1. Navigate to your Shopify dashboard.
2. Select Settings at the bottom left corner of the page.
3. Select Customer Accounts from the options listed in the side menu.
4. Enable the Show login links toggle.
5. Select the Customer accounts version.

That’s it! Once you've completed the setup, you will see a success message like below.
